La Albufera de Valencia

La Albufera de Valencia is a Spanish Tapas kitchen with a Valencian influence. For your palate they have the best rice and tapas dishes in Medellin.

Tapas is part of Spanish culture, hundreds of years of tradition that have discovered many things.

Some people may know that we have Tapas because of a disease of the Spanish King Alfonso X the Wise, he needed to take small bites between meals with small sips of wine.

Once recovered, the wise king decreed that the inns of Spain did not dispatch wine if it was not accompanied by some food.

Royal providence that we consider appropriate and wise to prevent alcohol abuse in those who a majority of the time simply drank wine but did not have enough to pay for a meal with abundant protein.

This royal decree led to inns serving small bits of food with the wine, and over years developed into a cultural experience and a way of thinking about dishes.

La Albufera de Valencia carries on that tradition far away in Medellin.
