El Zocalo

For lovers of tequila, nachos and Mexican culture in Medellin. Zocalo is a Mexican restaurant that takes it’s name from the central plaza in Mexico City, and brings the authentic culinary tradition of Mexico to Medellin.


The Mexican atmosphere, the bar tequilas and cocktails and colorful tablecloths are the atmosphere of this restaurant – bar located in Poblado, here you can sample the delights of a good Mexican ranchera.


Opened in 1992 with a menu of over 60 dishes, in the Zocalo you will feel at the Aztec nation. Masks, hats and ceramics evoke the best in the land of mariachis. Try the variety of this traditional cuisine in Medellin.


To talk of Mexican food is to talk of chile, mole, tortillas and tequila. They are the fundamental elements. The menu is a panorama of 63 plates, Enchiladas, soups, salads, tacos, fajitas, burritos, quesadillas, flautas, international dishes and desserts are some of the recipes that were brought from regions such as Tampico, Puebla and Veracruz


Since 1992, El Zocalo has offered its expertise in Mexican food to the city: the mixed fajitas, which are recognized in the Calle de la Buena Mesa, where it is located.


Tortillas and involved typical, and a willingness among elegant decor full of vigor and color, they make this little place welcoming, cheerful and full of personality.


The passion is in every corner, employees provide friendly service in a setting with wooden chairs, tiles shaped into masks to dim the light on the walls, rustic wooden beams in the ceiling and light purple, green and yellow, which recreate Mexican life.
